Letter: Measure Q good for Davis
Davis is a nice place to live. It has its challenges, but fundamentally it is a nice place to live.
I had the opportunity to be on the City Council for eight years from 2012-2020, so I have had a front row seat to see many of the challenges facing Davis.
My grandparents moved to Davis in the 1940s. My mom was a Davis High graduate and went to UC Davis. I spent my own summers in Davis while growing up and moved back to Davis permanently in 2000.
In addition, I have a 15-year-old son who has been attending the Davis School System since the first grade.
I have watched firsthand as our community has navigated the many challenges it has faced over the years.
While I don’t agree with everything the city has done over the years, I can say without hesitation that I support the Sales Tax Proposal - Measure Q on this November’s ballot.
I like living in a community that has nice amenities and parks, and a community that feels safe to be in.
Passing Measure Q will allow us to continue to have the nice things we are accustomed to.
I do not want to live anywhere else; like many of you, I live in Davis by choice.
Davis is my home.
I hope you will join me and many others in supporting our community this November.
